The fear of God doesn't seem to exist in the majority of professing Christians, which is why sin abounds, so we need to learn to fear God again, just like the great Bible characters did.

Fear of God
Should we Christians be concerned about the fear of God in our lives? I believe we should, and the reason I believe this, is because it's what the Bible teaches. All throughout the Word of God in the Bible we are taught to fear God and give Him glory in our lives. But for some reason, this has been done away with in the professing church today, it isn't being taught and people are not fearing God, which why there is so much sin in the professing church. Just look at the Lutheran church, accepting practicing homosexuals into leadership positions in their church. This is what happens when you stop letting the Bible be your guide and you have no fear of God. On this page I will post scripture verses that show people of the Bible feared God and teach us that we should do the same. It's down to you as to whether or not you want God's Word to be your guide.
Before I list all the other verses, let me share with you a verse from Revelation 14:7 .....'Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.' ..... This angel represents God's people (messengers) on earth giving the last warning to the world before Jesus returns at the second coming. This is the end time message and as you can see, the angel is telling the world to fear God, because the hour of judgment has come. We will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ and I suggest that we start giving respect and Godly fear for the One who can destroy both body and soul in Hell. I think too often we only focus on the loving character of God, and forget the He is an all consuming fire.
